Discover one of the rare Jacquemarts collections in France! Built in the 11th century and listed as a Historic Monument, the collegiate of Auffay is famous for its famous Jacquemarts, symbols of the whole city. Their presence in the bell tower remains an enigma, even if legend tells us that these polychrome wooden automatons from the 17th century represent the Huguenots Houzou Bernard and Paquet Sivière. They were reportedly sentenced to pay the collegiate clock and strike the hours and services for insulting the Catholic faith.
